Shelter in Place lesson 1: Adaptability
As a kid, we all have heard this story about the princess and a pea. There was a delicate princess. She was given 7 thick and soft mattresses to sleep on. She did not find it comfortable because there was a pea under the first mattress. The delicate princess could feel it even after laying on the 7th layer of the mattress. When things are favorable, instead of enjoying them or being grateful about them, we often tend to complain about the things that are lacking. The standard example of the pessimist who sees the glass half empty in contrast to the optimist who sees it half full. We are often advised by the philosophers, mystics and life coaches to be grateful about things. Being grateful often attracts positive vibes or energies. Tendency to often complain attracts alike energies. Energies or not, one can easily tell by experience that if we complain about things a lot, we find more and more reasons to be unhappy about.
